This will likely be our last rescue GSD. We adopted him at 9 months old. He's very high energy, incredibly smart (even for a GSD), powerful, extremely athletic and very strong willed. He's been the biggest training challenge we have ever taken on but he will definitely be our Rock Star when he's all trained up/grown up.

Who could resist that look - stand up, alert ears and such bright, appealing eyes. Lucky you and Rova, adopting such a fine furry friend.

We weren't sure how "lucky" we were initially. Rockit is a K-9 washout. He saw all the other pups in the kennel being rewarded for jump, bite, shake. Guess what he wanted to do to gain our favor! Normally, the first commands one teaches a pup is "sit", "stay", "come". His first commands were "no bite", "no jump", "drop it". All in relation to our arms. We sustained many bruises, bloody scrapes and a few spills from trying to catch/stop a GSD missile.

Now that we have that trained out of him, he's truly turning into our Rock Star!

He does have a goofy side. Note the tennis ball firmly wedged under his ribs and the kong wedged up against his rear-end. One would think he would be uncomfortable and yet, he's sound asleep and snoring.

He is very handsome!! You will feel so rewarded when you teach him how to use his intelligence and talents.

Thanks, Wily.

We were contacted by a friend in the K-9 community that is familiar with us and our pups. Rockit is our 4th rescue GSD and the 2nd K-9 washout. One of the others was abused to the point of having a traumatic brain injury. Another was nearly put down for aggression due to an owner that didn't know bupkis about the breed.

When we did the meet and greet with Rockit, he waltzed up, wrapped his front paws around my neck and smothered me in velvety soft kisses and nuzzles. Game over! :rof laughing:

He is a great looking boy. He reminds me of one of my boys from a passed life, Thor. All of you are very lucky?!
