Kathy O. I am glad that Cranberry was able to be at home for her final moments. Lone Rock is wonderful - they even treat ducks with the same respect. All of us here are waving a sad goodbye to Cranberry.

Kathy O., I'm so glad you had an appropriate letting-go with Cranberry.

Here's a Lone Rock memory that may bring a smile to your lips:
I have an aged guinea pig named Ewok who is one of my best friends. He is weak and doesn't seem to have his usual spunk.
I carry him into Lone Rock on my shoulder, where he receives a shot of fluids including some Vitamin C (later he is just fine and stays with me a few more years).
On the way out, I pass through the waiting room. A gentleman with a huge dog at his side blurts out, "My God! You're not TREATING that RAT?!!" I say, "Sure, this is Ewok," and the vet backs me up. The man doesn't mean to be insensitive...he is clearly just ASTOUNDED that Wok could be a good enough friend to take to the Vet.
Love that Lone Rock, they have never laughed at me yet (well, there was that time I took Mr. Bunny in to be "fixed" and received a call saying there was nothing to ... uh...fix. Luckily we'd named the sweetie Bunny Foofoo which wasn't one gender or the other).
JMiller is a wonderful friend, nothing she won't do for you.
Sympathies and best wishes from Another Kathy

KathyO... so sorry for your loss...

Glad you were able to contact someone to come.

We had to put Chet down 1 year & 2 months to the day you put Cranberry to sleep... It still hurts...

:hugs:

Kathy O., I'm happy that I could be of assistance in such a trying time. I'm sorry for your lose. We had a wonderful German shepard when I was a child, my first dog of many. After you feel it's appropriate, your lonely dalmatian may benefit from the adoption of one of those very deserving dogs at the human society.
And BuyersAgent, it's the company I keep that brings out the best in me :D
