I too am sorry to hear of your loss, we recently had to put our sweet Brutus down as well. It is never an easy time. I wanted to share with you something we did: if you have food and other items left that you won't use in the near future, and you are up for it, you might drop them off at Intermountain Humane Society at Pine Junction. We donated a bag of food and some odds and ends after putting brutus down, and somehow it helped to know we were helping some other dogs out there who needed a hand.

I hope you have many wonderful pictures to remind you of the happy times you had together.

TyFars, I would like to thank you for posting that lovely and moving piece.

I also have a fix for your unwanted spell-check. If you can find your way into your Pinecam Profile, there is an option to choose that has somehow gotten to the "yes" position and automatically spell-checks everything you write. Correct it and the problem will disappear.
Thank you again.

Thanks! I refer to the poem often. When I need to reflect and when others are in need. It is so powerful.

I have tried to change my profile. It sits there and sits there (we have Hi Speed DSL) and then goes to an error page...Will try again later. Thanks for the help!

I, too, am grieving tonight (see tribute to departed pets). I really feel for you. Many tears will be shed tonight.

Love to ya.

So sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. I too have felt such pain and I know I will feel it again (unfortunately). I still grieve over losing my best friend but the poem below helped make each day a little easier. Get the tissues out and cry, cry, cry.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
?It?s me, I haven?t left you, I?m well, I?m fine, I?m here.?

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to
me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcel, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I?m not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said ?it?s me.?

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It?s possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, ?I never went away.?

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over...I smiled and watch you yawning
and say ?good-night, God bless, I?ll see you in the morning.?

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I?ll rush across to greet you and we?ll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.

Dear Snow,

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Do you have a picture of your Maverick? Not knowing him, we don't know what type of pet Maverick was, although, having had several pets for long lengths of time, they all become family members.

Having seen a lot of horrible things in my life, one of the hardest things I've ever had to do is taking a pet to the vet and holding them while saying good-bye.

Too much pain. I almost wish they'd out-live us.

Again, sorry for your loss

CHB

Thank you all so much!!!!

It has been a little over two weeks since we lost Mavy. There are times when I still can't seem to believe that he is gone.

I do have pictures but right now the scanner is down and I do not have a way to get then in but soon.

We are getting ready to go camping and I found one of his toys in the camper it just broke my heart. The other dogs are doing well although still not eating very well.

I wish I could explain to them what is going on. Our other Schipperke Grizwald has been hit very hard he will barely eat a 1/2 cup of food a day. He use to run around like a nut but now is very sad. We are hoping the camping trip over labor day will cheer him up.

I go get the ashes Friday, I have not been able to bring myself to do it and I hope I do not chicken out.

Still trying to figure why this little guy has shook me so bad. We have lost other pets before but he was special .

Hug your fuzzy friends tonight.

k
