Pretty cool sled dog legend, similar to the Rainbow Bridge:

Thank you, AspenLeaf, that is cool.

2006 was a great year for me, I got to see my first Auroras, the two starts of the Iditarod, and some local sled dog events all for the first time.

Thanks again!

We lost our first Siberian Husky, Icee, this summer. She was just four days shy of her 9th birthday, and it is still heartbreaking to me. Runs just won't be quite the same this year, without Icee's special "woo woo" and helicopter tail wagging as we get ready for each hookup of the teams. With all my heart, I hope that this is more than a legend, and that one day I will join Icee on another run.

Apologies. Didn't know this is such a dangerous crowd! Didn't mean to do that to you, MC

Aspenleaf - You gotta come out to some of the races this season. You can meet mushercubby's avatar and k9driver's dogs, and a bunch of other local sibe lovers and their dogs. It's a whole lotta fun!

rocky mountain sled dog www.rmsdc.com

mountain mushers www.colomtnmushers.tripod.com

They usually do a few races in Grandby. (closest to here).

Will do -- thanks! I'd also LOVE to meet your 'pacas some day, except I know I'd want to bring a couple home with me..... Can they be housebroken?

Of course they can! - you know they are quite neat in their "habits". When traveling you have to bring along a poop can so that you can start their "own" pile.
They have been in the house - it was the only way to teach them how to go up and down stairs.

Hey MusherCubby! Is this the same Icee I saw in the Timber Times a while back?

Yes, I had forgotten about that, but her picture was in the Times in February 2005!

Are you referring to Ecclesiastes 3?

18 I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?" (NIV)

The dog on your avatar is gorgeous -- I've been wanting to ask you where he/she's from (breeder)?

We are the breeders of the dog in my Avatar! His name is Copper. You can find out all about our dogs at: http://www.iceberg-kennels.com
