My one golden (the one we have had for 5 years) is sick. She was up all night throwing up and has diarrhea. I've been trying to get hold of our vet but haven't been able to reach her.....

Does anyone know of a vet up here that will see our Sassy this morning? I am really worried and I really need to get her medical help ASAP. Thanks everyone!

I always had to take our boys down to the emergency vet. We used the one at Wadsworth and Colfax.

The vet we chose when we moved down the hill IS open on the weekends:
Mesa Vet
http://www.yourmesavet.com/map.htm
It is located a few blocks south of Youngfield and 70

Good luck, and I hope your Golden is ok!!!

You need to take her "down the hill." Two good options are VRCC (veterinary specialty and emergency hospital) near Hampden and Santa Fe (303-874-7387) or Deer Creek Animal Hospital at Kipling and Chatfield (303-973-4200). They should answer at either of those phone numbers if you call RIGHT NOW!

Sassy has an appt at Mesa Veterinary Hospital at 10:00 this morning. I will post when we get back and let you all know if she is ok.....

I did call one emergency place and they thought it was stress dut to the new dog...I don't think so because they have been getting along just fine....I guess we will find out in a few hours...

Thank you!

I'm sorry your pup is sick.
My vet, Dr. Palmini, heads up Conifer and Bailey pet clinics. He doesn't have hours on Sunday but he has provided a pager number for his patients in case of an emergency. 303 205 4830 and he sees them out of the Conifer office. I don't know if he will see other vet clients. The instructions for use of this pager number say that if he does not return the call in 5 minutes, he is out of range and we should contact Central Vet Emergency Services, 303 874 7387.
Sending you and your dog good thoughts.

Dr. Horst checked Sassy over thoroughly. She even checked her stools and it indicated that Sassy was experiencing Stress. Her blood work was fine and she didn't have a fever and vitals looked good. I guess she is stressed a little from the new dog that we got last week..Even though they get a long wonderfully, Sassy is stressed out I guess with the new change in our household.

Sassy has not thrown up since early this morning..Dr. Horst gave her medication to take and special food for the next couple of days.... Fortunately, her sickness had nothing to do with the food she is eating (Innova/EVO). The vet said the food that I changed her to a few weeks ago is great food and that this had nothing to do with it....

My husband and I were so impressed with Mesa Veterinary Hospital that we scheduled Harley to get nuetered there on Tuesday.....

Excellent news!!!

Any big changes, even fun, happy ones, cause stress (eustress vs. distress). What a relief, though!!

It's great to have a clinic that does after-hours. When you go to an ER, they have no clue of your dog's medical history, and it's usually interns working who don't have a lot of experience yet.

Good for you and Sassy!! :D
