Only 18 months in jail for this?! There is just not enough justice for this!!
There is something seriously wrong with this woman's brain to commit a crime like this. :bash:

Maybe they should lock her in a closet to let her feel what her dogs did.
There is not enough JUSTICE in the world for Pets, these kind of people have no regard to life. :x

Human Filth!! People like this sicken me. No punishment would ever be equal to the souls of two helpless and beautiful creatures. Eighteen months probably means a couple of months served and the rest off in probation. How disgusting!!

WOW. I cannot imagine the agony those dogs went through. 18 months or 18,000 months hardly seems like enough.

Yes I read the original story when it happened, these dogs truly suffered a horrible fate. This woman had told the police at the time that she had been evicted and was going to go back to get the dogs later but couldn't get in, but never told anyone about them either. They were found by the bank or landlord or something. They had tried to chew the walls and they had no water, just each other. Horrible, just horrible.... This lady will get hers I am sure of it...

I've been trying to think of ways to prevent this kind of thing from happening,

Prohibit them from ever owning any kind of animal again? How could that be enforced? Through the health departments along with rabies licenses? With what money? "People" like this are unlikely to ever have their animals vaccinated or licensed, anyway.

"Wouldn't it be great if" there was a large program in place for humane societies (funded by ???) , through which "people" like this could serve community service hours (thousands and thousands and thousands of hours). If they did not show the proper attitude, or didn't do something perfectly, they'd be sent right back to jail. This would punish, but not prevent.
Unfortunately, I don't think  we can ever prevent or outlaw stupidity, meanness, insanity, or idiocy. (Though "we" seem to be working hard on outlawing stupidity, unsuccessfully )

Build more jails so there's enough room for ALL the scum (that doesn't sound very liberal, does it? 8O), and fund them with ???

Just know that these dogs will never suffer again, and know that this woman will have to live with and die with what she has done...

That is more than enough justice for me.

Lets rush to judgement- that was pretty short story. What does the Humane Society have to say? Were they contacted?

I also am saddened by the outcome for the dogs

But where is the outrage over an NFL quarter back engaged in dog fighting

negative legal consequences? Guess he will be sharing a cell with Paris!l

This is not an recent story Bubs, this is a follow up from several months ago. It happened about the same time that the boy got attacked by the Pit Bulls in his own yard.(and lost his arm) So it didn't get much publicity as a result.
