Just wanted to share with you that I lost one of my Baby Goats, Casper. I went to feed this morning and he was already gone. We have had the babies since 4 weeks ago today. He was a special lil guy, not only for his sweet disposition, but he was born on my birthday, too! He was only a little over two months old. All of them were sick when we bought them, even had the vet out the next day after arriving to their new home! I am just worried now about the other two, as they are younger and smaller. I do know, though, he had some wonderful last days with me and my kids. He has touched us all in a very special way.

NOT a good Friday for us! :(

Thanks for reading.

April 19 - Well, I am VERY sad to say that our youngest, Dolly, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning. My daughter and I are just devastated!!! I know that we did the best we could with Dolly & Casper, but it sure doesn't help to know that right now. I have a good friend whose doe just delivered 2 babies this morning, and he sent me an e-mail (made me bawl like a baby!) that he is naming the new babies Casper & Dolly in their honor. Their lil souls are in peace now.

Poor Buster, already was 'crying' this morning when he was left all alone. He seems to be healthy and feisty just like a young buckling should be. Of course, we are truly hoping and crossing fingers that we don't have to go through with this again!

Thanks for reading.

So sorry to hear about Casper. :( Here's hoping that the others do OK.

:( How sad for you. Little goats are so sweet and playful. I'm really sorry for your loss. Did the vet know what they were/are sick with? I hope your other little buddies turn the corner.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear. Baby goats (kids) are one of the sweetest things on earth. I would be devastated to lose one. Sending hugs your way and hoping the other babies will be just fine.

Oh, I just so feel for you. At least he was happy with you and gave you joy too. I hope that's a comfort to you.

I have been raising Cashmere goats for 15 years, if you have general questions, let me know. some little ones are destined not to make it, tough when it happens, But if you are worried about the others, I try help with answers if I can. How old are the babies? Are they weaned from their mothers? Let me know, I've been down that road.

Thank you ALL for your condolences!! What a wonderful group of people!

UPDATE: My other two baby goats, Buster and Dolly, are doing well. Buster, he is sooo feisty and running after the kids; they love it!
Dolly, well, she still has a cough, eating enough to keep her from being too lethargic but not very 'rambunctious'. Still on meds and waiting to see what the future holds for her.

AGAIN! Thank you so much for being wonderful, caring human beings and post your well wishes! That means so much to a 'newbie' up here!

YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER WEEKEND!! :multi:
