Has anyone had any experience with the surgical repair procedure for "trigger finger", where one finger cannot open again after making a fist? (I'm not talking about our ever-present friends up at the rifle range)? I've been trying to get some info from Kaiser Permanente, but it's almost useless.

Have had 3 trigger finger surgeries--wow what relief! Dr Sean Griggs, Hand Surgery Associates, 601 E Hampden 303-744-7078 is excellent!

I had that happen to me where my finger would not open, it was so strange. I ended up getting a steroid shot in the finger tendon - or something like that. This was very long time ago and it still hasn’t come back.

I can offer encouragement to seeing Hand Surgery Associates for any hand issue!

Many years ago I severed the tendon on top of my left hand middle finger while cutting something in the kitchen.
The finger just curled straight down and rested against my hand.
I lifted it and hooked it over my ring finger and went to see Dr. Linn at his old practice.

He said, "I just got back from a two week clinic seminar on hand surgery! I know everything there is to know about about how to repair that injury! I also know that there is NO WAY I would try to do that! Go directly to Hand Surgery Associates right now!"

I did exactly that and it got repaired and is perfectly functional to this day!
Go and see them!

I have trigger thumbs where they just lock flat on my palms. It is very painful. Good luck to you if you decide on surgery. Kaiser told me that nothing could be done. I hope that you get relief.

I was cleaning one Sunday and raked my hand under a teak console and a large chunk of wood got stuck in my hand. I won't go into all of the details, but the wood stuck right into the tendon of my 3rd finger. After a lot of work, the doc was able to finally find it (it went in and the skin pulled back across - the location was almost 3 inches from the hole) and pull it out. I have trigger finger in that finger since. It is not painful but annoying

I have trigger finger in the left finger on my left hand. It is not painful, and is most prominent when I first get up in the morning. My doctor told me if it becomes annoying, he will give me a steroid shot in the tendon. About 20 years ago, I had the opposite problem where one of my fingers would not close all the way when I made a tight fist. Two steroid shots took care of that.

I have had 3 trigger finger surgeries with Dr. Griggs as well. I tried the shots first with no relief, but the surgeries worked quite well, no more issues. It was tough having to pry my fingers open each morning before the surgeries. Recovery was quite fast, back playing golf within a week of the surgeries.h

Another vote for Hand Surgery Associates, Dr' K did both my carpel tunnels, trigger thumb & finger, re-constructed my wrist, good outfit.
