I hear ya on Panorama. They are my first choice, but not being in network for Tricare is not going to work out financially.
How's your shoulder doing, Bailey Guns?

I am kinda freaking out about additional costs since Panorama is out of network. I am going to call Dr Reister's office as he is IN network. scheduled appt for June 4th with Dr Reister

Glad you made an appointment with Dr. Reister! He repaired my badly broken ankle in 2009 and I was MORE than pleased! Plus, I was also really happy that he's in the Tricare network, to boot!
The surgery was done at Swedish and I was quite pleased with the staff there, too.
Good luck! I'm fortunate to still have "good" shoulders.................... :)

thanks, ConiferPT. I may be one of your first patients as your open time looks like it could coincide with my surgery time. FYI, it was Dr Linn would gave me the referral :)

I would like to give a resounding endorsement for the 2 ladies opening up
Conifer PT!
:applause: :applause: :applause:
Mary was my primary PT- (so great to work with)
and Dana filled in a few times, (also great)
EXCELLENT!!!
It's so important to have PTs that are both knowledgeable
AND compassionate, to get your healing going.
To actually listen to your concerns, consider your limitations
and work the best exercises for your situation makes these PTs
number 1 in my book!
Good luck w/surgery Ang'!
I can't speak about the surgeons personally since
I didn't have to have surgery-
but know Panorama has an excellent reputation & is one of the finest in the state.

First surgery went well and the rotator repair was perfect. Due to some other issues (workers comp related) I haven't regained the range of motion I should've. Going back to Dr Gottlob next week for a 2nd surgery to take care of scar tissue issues. Healing/rehab should be much easier this time around.

Panorama is fantastic as is Dr Gottlob.

of course you have been lectured on the importance of PT/deep massage after the surgery to help keep the scar tissue from forming. how long does the surgery take usually? is it outpatient or hospital admitted type of thing?

My rotator cuff surgery was last Aug and only took 1 or 1.5 hours I guess...outpatient.

Everything went well until I injured a bicep tendon in PT in mid Oct. Then I had REAL issues with the work comp insurance company on getting help with that and continuing authorizations for PT. I did PT religiously along with home exercise, etc. But getting the authorizations for treatment was/is a real PITA. They initially denied the surgery for 6 months even though it was obviously necessary. They'd also approve 4 or 6 PT sessions, then not approve anything for 3 or 4 weeks, and so on. It's been a real struggle dealing with this insurance company...far worse than the injury and rehab.

man that sucks. Maybe you can escalate with your employer, since they should have a rep that manages the WC claims with the insurance company. They want you to get in and out of WC as quickly as possible and if the insurance company's rep is screwing it up, the ding gets felt by your employer not the insurance company. (I used to do this in a past life)
Good luck with this surgery.

Yeah, I did that and the employer raised holy h*** with the insurance company. Then I got a "Cease and Desist" letter from the insurance co's/employer's lawyer telling me I could not contact the employer directly since they (and I) were represented by counsel. So, something that should've been resolved in 6 or 7 months has now gone on for 15 months and counting.

I seem to be the only one anxious to get healed and get back to work...work comp ins co nor employer really seems too worried about how long it's taking.
