I'm working on getting a doc or nurse practitioner involved with, hopefully, some medformin. I'm not particularly impressed with giving ,insulin to insulin resistant type II's like me. Sorta like pouring water over Gore-tex, it seems. My liver and kidney numbers as well as cardio are good, but of course that is temporary with sugar as high as mine. Unfortunately, where I am living now is not known for its medical facilities or doc's. My dentist, even, is in Lakewood!

Wow, AL, 800? That would see me in a coma or dead. At 400, I'm dizzy and that is way bad. I do have signs that I watch--neuropathy for one and fuzzy eyesight in one eye for the other. Amazing how the sight snaps back to normal the moment my sugar drops low enough. Like some type 2's, my sugar goes way up when I fast and the numbers I gave are fasting numbers. But, I'm sure I'm not anywhere near a safe level these days. Spoke with someone today and got numbers to call, not to worry.

My Dr. put me on injectable Byetta yesterday. Has anyone tried it? Did it help? Did you get nauseated with it and if so, did it go away after time?

I have trouble with wheat, it causes my joints to swell and I end up in extreme pain if I eat more than 1-2 servings a week. I discovered a wonderful alternative in Shiratiki noodles. they are a Japanese yam and look and taste a bit like cellophane noodles. I have found them in spaghetti, Fettuccini, and rice styles, Safeway carries the spaghetti ones and the others can be bought on Amazon. Since they are very low carb (approaching 0) they fit right in my low carb diet too which is also nice.
