Like Henry last year, I am in need of a buddy to drive me to and from my colonoscopy procedure.
Looking for a volunteer in the Conifer area who can take me to the facility near Swedish Hosp. Wait during the procedure, then drive me back to Conifer.
My appointment is Wednesday 7-11-18, check-in at 2:00.

In return, I will do the same for you or someone you know who has the same need. I will also cover cost of gas for the trip.

I have lived in the area for almost 30 years, but am new to Pinecam. PM responses are fine to maintain your privacy.

I have cancelled my appointment.
I will reschedule when I can find someone who is willing to help.

Good-bye to pinecam.

Additionally reg_iv, I'm thinking a bit more than a just a weeks notice may be advantageous in finding someone to help.

I am retired, live near Aspen Park, and would be happy to help you out providing I do not have appts of my own. Send me a PM and we can exchange phone numbers. And yes, the more notice the better. As last week was a holiday week, many folks may have been out of town or hosting visitors. So please don’t take it personally. Namaste.

I am not experienced on social media. I need to learn to get online more often. I have received several PMs and will be responding to them after this post. I am sorry I did not provide much notice, but the arrangements I had made fell thru at the last minute. Rather than cancel the appointment, I tried a last minute request. Now I know better. Thank-you to everyone. I will try again later.

Don't put it off unless you absolutely have to, reg. Your health is paramount.

I just had a virtual colonoscopy and a EBT Heart scan done this morning, checked in at 7:30 this morning and was back to work by 9:15 in Golden and I drove myself. It's better, cheaper and safer, my insurance said sure no problem, here's their site https://www.frontrangepreventiveimaging.com/ I'm getting ready to head home now. Tom

Virtual colonoscopies are covered by Medicare, but only if there is no family history of colon cancer. If one of your family members had it, then Medicare considers you a high-risk individual and will only be satisfied with a full-blown colonoscopy ... and yes, Medicare will cover that.

That's too bad Henry, I did the research and the virtual is by far the most thorough for small polyps and it also sees the surrounding organs ie lungs, etc. The prep was pretty much the same, but the regular one, as you know, is a day off of work and the need for a driver, if I lived in Boulder, I would have been able to do it on and hour lunch break for both scans, I was in and out in less than an hour, much better than the last 4 or 5 I've had.

So this will be my last as I'm 62 and I'll be 65 and on medicare by the next one. Thanks for the information

Tom
