UPDATE: I enrolled in an Advantage Plan today and Dr. Bentrott will be my Primary Care.

Thanks for all the help!

ORIGINAL POST:
Looking For A Medicare Health Care Provider in Evergreen

Hi All, I have recently enrolled in Medicare and am looking for an Advantage Plan or Medicare Supplement.
It turns out that my current doctor doesn't accept Medicare and so I need to find a new doctor in Evergreen or Conifer that does accept Medicare and is also accepting new patients.
I've found a practice in Evergreen that seems to fit the bill but I don't know anything about them. I was hoping for some feedback from folks who have used these doctors:
St Anthony Health Centers Evergreen
Dr. Kit Brekhus MD,
Dr. Kimberly Bentrott MD,
Dr. Ann Brockman,
Dr. Robert Michael MD
Do any of you have experience with this practice? If not, do any of you have recommendations of local doctors who accept Medicare patients and who are accepting new patients?

Thanks!

The clinic you mentioned is the one I've been going to for several years, they are connected with St. Anthony's hospital. I see them quite often because of my health, the Dr's and staff are very professional and represent themselves very well. There have been several times that I've been referred to a specialist and the specialist mentions how good the clinic is as well. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else and I don't think you would be wrong to go to them as well. btw...I use Dr. Bentrott, I feel she really cares about me.

Thanks! Since you use this practice, I wonder if you'd mind sharing some details, such as:

1. Are they prompt to see you at your scheduled appointment time?

2. Is it difficult to get an appointment, or do you have to wait several weeks to see a doctor?

3. When you call, does someone answer in a timely manner or do you experience long hold times? (I ask because I called them yesterday to ask a few questions and ended up "on hold" for about 45 minutes - and that was only to make initial contact with the front desk. Just wondering if that is normal for this practice?)

4. What is the practice style? I'm someone who believes that "Less is More" when it comes to medical care and I like to explore the possibilities of diet and lifestyle changes before I resort to pharmaceuticals. I'm not absolutely against modern medicine, but don't see it as a first resort. Usually, I prefer to get a diagnosis and try alternative medicine before ramping up to pharm. Do you think they would be cooperative with a patient who doesn't always use mainstream medicine?

Again, thanks for your input. It is very valuable to know the experiences of those who use this practice. This kind of information will have a real impact on the Medicare plan that I choose.
