We are interested in your experience with Inogen companies, especially if you can compare/contrast with Apria customer service. PM if you prefer.
Thank you.

We used to get our equipment and supplies from Apria. Now we use AeroCare of Denver. We really like them. Far better customer service and better billing people. I would highly recommend them.

Apria is great with oxygen delivery. Very nice drivers, and well organized.

Their supplies department, however, is terrible! Steve's doctor sent them a script six times before they filled it weeks later and it was the wrong item. That's just one example. We were told by a couple of doctors that they're all pretty equal, though.

I hate Apria. In my opinion they are completely dysfunctional and unethical. Every time was nothing but poor communication, lies and drama. Plus they cheated my insurance company out of thousands of dollars.
I decided O2 was not worth the pain of dealing with them. I will never work with them again.

Then I used another company (can't remember the name) they were better but not great.

Now I have AeroCare (for ~2+ years) and never had a problem with them.

We hate Apria also although we still have an oxygen concentrator from them. We had had it too long and were to far into the time period after which they no longer pay Medicare.

But I had a months long battle with Apria for charging Medicare for oxygen bottles we never had. It took hours of my time and finally of a specialist at Medicare for Apria to stop the charging. It was not a lot each month but it was the principle of the thing. And yes, the communication and run around from Apria is terrible. And they lied to Medicare when we had a 3 way telephone call. I had the name of every person I talked to about the change and they claimed there were no one there by the names I had. Trying to discredit me, I guess.

And thanks ridgewalker and CooknThyme for suggesting other companies who deliver in our area. I'll remember them if we ever need oxygen bottles or other supplies again.

Can Apria be reported for Medicare fraud? Things like that really burn me up!

I was not on medicare when I used Apria. I had private insurance and they beat up Apria pretty good. The insurance company told me it was a "regional issue". Apria doesn't like to serve remote communities.

However, some of the drivers love the remote communities. So they are usually pleasant and helpful. Wouldn't you prefer to drive up here rather than in Denver.

But the home office will still dick us around with delivery and pick-up schedules.

Just pick some one else and save yourself some headaches.

My experience with Apria echos everyone else. Unethical may be the best description.

Unfortunately, they remain the "preferred provider" w/ insurance.

For some reason, we were referred to Pacific Pulmonary, out of Evergreen, who we've been with for several years now. I assume it was through UHC, but I don't remember for sure.
