I thought I would share a few early postcards of Elk Falls in Staunton State Park. While many know where Elk Falls is, few will know where Heron Falls is.

Except for one 1947 postcard, the others are postcards from 1910s.

Heron Falls? Really? I've been up and down that stretch of creek and I wouldn't consider that a waterfall!

I was equally surprised it actually had a name. :-)

Great postcards. I alway thought it was called ‘Apron’ or ‘Tabletop Falls’. My personal favorite in the little natural water feature category.

For those unfamiliar with the "falls" or may may missed it on your journey, this may help to explain why.

Yup! Those are them! Too funny. I can't believe they have a name. There are some pretty neat features along that trail. I need to "sneak" up there again soon. Been too long.
