for decades everywhere i've lived prior to here in bailey, i've been able to stock up on tamales to freeze from about now until christmas. usually a fundraiser for a church or nonprofit. usually very very reasonable, like $1 each, or a dozen for $10. i'd allays buy at least $50 worth a pop, sometimes several times each year. anything like that around here? a search on pinecam shows that some years ago, dorothy's tamales in fairplay was mentioned, but i've never been there. any info to the sort? it's gearing up to be tamale time!

Dorothy's Tamales were featured on Food Network's show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". The store is in the Prather's Market shopping area.

I buy them at Costco. Pork, chicken or my favorite green chili and cheese. Taste like home made. They are sealed in a package of 4 and sold in a doz. bag. They are around $13-15

Sadly, I haven’t seen any tamale community fund raisers like that around here. Wish there were.
