Please be patient with an elementry question. I have searched for days, apparently with the wrong search terms.
When I start my LG mini-pad up, it gives me one of two screens: Contacts page Email setup page In order to get past them, I minimize and close from there. How do I stop these screens from showing up at all? _________________ Neighbors Helping Neighbors It's kind of fun to do the impossible. Sometimes, the blessing is in not getting what you want. |

First, Google is your friend. As someone who works in the IT field, Google is a large part of my job and learning to search effectively is a valuable skill. This is not meant as a dig, but almost any time I am asked by friends/family "Why does my [device] do/not do this?" I Google it and give them that answer. Reworking searches to refine the results takes practice but can provide a wealth of information. The only problem is learning to distinguish between gems and garbage, but that comes with practice. And while I like Google, you can use any browser you like, just use it a lot and be familiar with the quirks. And expect people to look at you oddly when you tell them to "Bing it!" or "Yahoo it!". Only Google is both a proper noun AND a verb.
Not knowing why those items are coming up to begin with, I just ran a search for "LG mini-pad how to remove items from startup", and got this page of results: https://www.google.com/search?q=LG+mini ... e&ie=UTF-8 Can you try these steps and report back on whether this stops the contacts and email set up pages from displaying when you start up? Option 1: Freeze Apps Some Android devices provide a way for you to “Freeze” apps. Also known as “Disabling”, the feature is useful for those apps that came with your device and cannot be uninstalled. You can usually freeze an app with these steps: 1) Open “Settings” > “Applications” > “Application Manager“. 2) Choose the app you wish to freeze. 3) Select “Turn off” or “Disable“. Note: Options can vary depending on the device you own and version of the Android OS you are running. |

Thanks. I did get one off, my contacts list. Not really know how I did it. I started with different instructions, played around with them and hit it. Still working on the other. Some of the problem might be with CL. They are so slow, that I time out. I will let you know when it is finished.
I am confident, now. Thanks for the pointers, Polo Loco. ![]() _________________ Neighbors Helping Neighbors It's kind of fun to do the impossible. Sometimes, the blessing is in not getting what you want. |

Okay, I will try that, too. I will let you know what I find. Thanks!
