Mountain Community Disaster Council

Mountain Community Disaster Council is a network of voluntary organizations which provide relief to victims and first responders in disasters. It is a member organization of the National and Colorado VOADs, or Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.

Our service area includes the communities and surrounding areas served by Indian Hills, Inter-Canyon, Elk Creek, Platte Canyon, North Fork and Trumbull Fire and rescue departments.

Our mission is to coordinate effective disaster relief in our community.

Members included nonprofit organizations, government entities, and their affiliates whose purpose coincides with the mission of MCDC. The steering committee is comprised of up to fifteen member organizations that take a primary role in disaster response. Membership on the steering committee is currently comprised of or open to representatives of each of the 6 fire/rescue depts.. and/or axillaries in the service area, the Dir. of the Jeffco and Park Co. Depts. Of Emergency Mgt, the Jeffco and Park Co. Sheriff's Dept., the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Mountain Resource Center, and the Intermountain Humane Society.

Resource organizations include for-proft and non-profit organizations which provide direct goods and services during a disaster. These may include civic and fraternal organizations, faith-based entities, businesses, media, restaurants, service organizations and other groups involved in aid to our mountain neighbors.
