Prescribed burns planned near Sedalia, Bailey, Lake George
MORRISON … The USDA Forest Service plans to conduct several prescribed (area) burns on the Pike National Forest between now and the end of October as environmental conditions allow. Three specific burns are scheduled totalling approximately 2,000 acres. Because of the variability of weather and fuels conditions, the burns will occur with fairly short notice, taking advantage of windows which fit the specific prescriptions for each of the burns and burn areas. If conditions allow, the first of the burns could occur as early as Monday or Tuesday, Oct. 20-21.
