Burland HOA this Saturday, Jan 11th at 9am

Burland going for the largest Broadband Grant ever!
.
Are you aware that large portions of Burland have less than 1 Mbps speed. The state minimum requirement for BB applications is 25 Mbps. Burland is applying for the largest Broadband grant in history from the Colorado Broadband Deployment Board to solve this.

We have 5 days to go to increase our chances of success before grant is submitted.
Are you needing better internet for work? School? Research? Telemed?

Come Saturday, 1-11-2020 at 9am to 106 Rosalie Road, Shepherd of the Rockies Church (behind Dynamic Properties sign) to get latest stats.
Want to help this to succeed? Come with suggestions.
Jim

....... "The State minimum is 25 Mbps"...........

"The State minimum is 25 Mbps"?
Please explain/correct this for everyone
There is no such thing as a "State Minimum"

dogger,

Reply from a Colorado Broadband Deployment Board member.

"The FCC definition of broadband is 25 Meg Download and 3 Meg Upload and the state of CO recognizes the FCC definition as the minimum requirement for BB applications."

Let me reword my post.

Woops!
That's what I get for speed reading.....
Several neighbors called me and apparently did the same thing
as they asked me about "minimum speed requirements"
and why they were not getting them. I told them both
I was not aware of any across the board "speed requirements"

So to clarify, as I understand it, the "25 MBPS minimum" up speed is
a requirement to qualify for a Colorado administrated grant,
and has nothing to do with anyone's current current service

The above seems to also imply that the FCC requires that any
service provider that claims to have "Broadband" service must
provide this 25MBPS minimum level, although I do not know how
that is enforced or monitored. I do have "advertised Broadband "
service however it wanders above and (much)lower regularly

Dogger,
So many homes in the east and south edge of Burland are getting speeds around 1 Mbps. Basically dial-up. Colorado created the grant for rural and mountain communities with speeds like these.

1-13-2020 was deadline for Burland Broadband commitments and checks to help our chances of success with the grant.

I can still mail commitment and check for you if you bring it to me.
If you pay by PayPal, you can email me photo of your commitment form.
I will email and snail mail yours to get on schedule.
