Do you want to help transportation for Seniors in Bailey area?

Seniors Alliance of Platte Canyon just found out that two Senior Coalition vans (Fairplay) are being sold at auction today at 10am, Saturday. Auction is online and in-person in Hartsel.

Do you want to buy and become a service provider in the Bailey area for Seniors? See online auction link.

The Seniors Alliance of Platte Canyon is not a service provider but an advocate for services for Seniors. We are advocating here. Are you interested? There are already bids for $1400 and $1600 on the two vans.

Someone got a great deal! They went for $5000 and $7750 to two different bidders and had only 17K and 22K miles on them!

Is the Park County Senior Coalition still in existence?

Reality, unless there is a government subsidy there is not enough rider usage to "pay the rent". AND as we all know, thanks to Tabor, taxes cannot be increased without a public approval.

Grants would be needed of course to pay the bills. We have several volunteers working on those. They have had some success but welcome more grant writers, whether for transportation, education or social activities. Chris Larson and Mary Anne Wesoloski hosted a Transportation Symposium last fall with maybe 30+ attending. They had many of the important transportation players there. They brainstormed: some ideas hard to do and some incredibly hard to do. Smart and energetic people are welcome to participate to move this along.
