Food was a close 2nd to a frozen TV dinner but a lot more expensive.
Of a party of 4, 2 ate it, 2 didn't. (Weekday night @7 pm, 1 other table seated.) Service was good though. |

It's a cocktail. If I remember correctly, it is gin, cherry liqueur, absinthe (just a touch) and a cherry in the bottom of the glass. The drink originated as a cure for hangover, having the reputation of "being able to even raise the dead".
We're doing well, thank you. We should meet up for lunch one of these days! _________________ Hamahakki Ratsastaja |

Be aware that it appears Jones adds a (mandatory?) tip to the food check
We noticed it when we got home The check also notes that the tip is calculated after tax is added, but our copy attached to the credit card receipt appears to have included a 20% rate applied to the food only?? I hope this is poor communication issue as opposed to a tip policy practice here We are not inclined to patronize places that have such a policy _________________ If things seem to be under control You simply are not going fast enough Mario Andretti |

I notice that Denver is going to raise the minimum wage and it is only about $3 more than what a "tipped" employee gets (something close to $15.50 vs. $12.50.)
I wish we would just get rid of tipping altogether and just pay the extra $3 to the employee in the first place. That is the way it is done in most of the rest of the world. |

I understand your logic, but totally disagree
That means the slackers get paid the same as the hustlers I have always been paid strictly on what I PRODUCE, some sort of full commission so to speak, as all of my employees have been paid..... Just think of what productivity would be like - everywhere if everyone were paid on what they contribute to the common good And, unfortunately, the only effect of the "Pay them $3/hour more would be that everyone would make less! A good waitress might spend a total of maybe 30 minutes to serve a party of 4 or so, and would get an equivalent of $1.50 as opposed to maybe $8.00 (or more if she is really good!) while the slacker would also get the same $1.50 probably, what she deserved. Socialisum at it's finest (And pooling the tips is even worse) The current practice allows you to reward (only) the exceptional server for their exceptional service Turn your kids on (or off) to Socialism by telling them to clean your toilets and you will pay them $10. Then take $7 away from then and give it to the sibling that didn't help. Then try and do it again next week............... _________________ If things seem to be under control You simply are not going fast enough Mario Andretti |

The Jones Mountain Lodge reviews seem to have turned into another topic. Has anyone eaten there lately?
