Same here. Fewer hummers. My wife and I were just discussing this yesterday. We are located in Elk Falls subdivision.

It seems we usually get the first Rufus about the 1st of July. We still haven't seen one. the Broadtail are fewer this year also, I am going to persume that had problems with the very late spring we had.
The other birds seem to be fewer also, except the very early crows that wake me before dawn.

I did a double take day before yesterday as I had an orange hummer, a Rufus, at the feeder. I have not had nearly as many hummingbirds this year.

funny my husband and I were talking about the same thing last weekend. normally we also have 6 large feeders up and they would get emptied every other day if not daily. this year we are down to the 2 smaller feeders and they just aren't here. we had a large group early on like we normally do, but they've dropped off since the last cold snap we had in june.

Hmmm, we have more birds than usual this year but have not yet seen a Rufous.

we have more, too. Female Rufus showed up about 10 days ago before the boys. I have not seen a male yet.

Strange. Every year it seems the Orange Menace shows up within a day of July 4th. But, I still haven't seen one yet this year. Perhaps, due to the late spring weather???

I spoke too soon, I now have two Rufous. One is guarding the feeders in the front of the house and the other has control of the feeders in the back.

We have more and a greater variety of birds than ever except hummingbirds.

They've probably been nesting. We've got fledglings showing up.

We've had the fewest hummingbirds in our six years here. No sign of a rufus yet although I thought I heard one two nights ago. Other birds are rather plentiful, especially cross bills.
