We got a random freeze last night. Killed all of the flowers my wife planted yesterday. Turned the bird baths into little skating rinks  Sometimes I feel like we can’t win.

Everyone else get a freeze last night too?

29 here. I am sorry about the flowers :(
I am just finishing up brand new beds. The plants have been in the ground for a few days with mulch and black plastic. I am hoping they are OK. I haven't been out yet. TOO FRIGGIN' COLD, man

So sorry to learn of plant loss to freezing temps. It is so tempting to start gardens early up here. I don't have a 'green thumb' … Next week I will buy a couple of outdoor pots that are already flowering (geraniums) And the watering can at the back door, so that I remember to water plants that are hanging on my front porch, which are very difficult for the deer to access!

24 here for the overnight low at 8200 feet. Guess I'll keep taking the seedlings in at night. Can't wait!

The thermometer on my covered deck said ~25 when I got up this morning (~5:30am). So it was probably colder than that earlier in the am.

My neighbor's thermometer reported 17 degrees for the low but his system is generally wackado so who knows.

Fortunately I only lost 1 short row of spinach and 1 or 2 broccoli plants. Looks like everything else will pull through okay. But I have a lot of prepping to do in order to get my garden through the weekend.

WXGeek is predicting our area will get 6-12 inches of snow this weekend for elevations above 8500 ft.
:snowflake: :snowman: :thud:

Gosh I'd really prefer it to be rain, but whatever type of moisture is a blessing.

The water in the bird baths was frozen this morning. When I looked at the weather stations is was 24 degrees here. Yet, there was no mention on the weather last night about temps being below freezing up here.
