Just ruined Bailey for us!!!
Quote: Where to Go: Bailey, Colorado Why: “Colorado locals like me know the truth: Sometimes, you’ll get stuck in crazy-making, Los Angeles-worthy traffic on 1-70 for hours just trying to get into the mountains for a ski day or alpine hiking adventure,” says Kathryn O’Shea-Evans. But O’Shea-Evans and her husband recently discovered a dreamy alternative far from the madding crowds: Bailey, Colorado. “It’s an easy one hour drive from downtown Denver on Highway 285 and chockablock with so many mountain thrills that it feels like you’re in an undiscovered corner of Europe,” says O’Shea-Evans. https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegle ... 1ny_Pr_LqU _________________ Everybody needs a rainbow in their life!!! Top 20 in the US? Uh - No.
No traffic jams? ![]() ![]() So a rich person buys a home, turns it into a STR for rich people and now want to get free advertising and encourage people to visit. ![]() |

I'm wondering now if the other 19 locations were just rental ads too?
but not enough to go back and read the rest of the article! |

Self-serving dirt pimps even included the link for their Bailey airbnb
![]() Uninvested pass-through transient tourists as rental neighbors are hardly desirable, along with vacation owners who can run for county board/HOA/covenant seats & influence an area's direction when they don't have to experience day-to-day living here. Used to be a new homeowner quirk, but vacation renters also find comfort in leaving outside lights on all night because scary dark skies ![]() The sign on the county line says that Park County is zoned, so if this unfortunate trend continues hopefully everyone is paying sales tax & short-term rental tax. And if that meant more $ for first responders & housing for them, wouldn't that be something ![]() |

They are renting their place for over $400 a night (2 night minimum, plus cleaning), and are booked most of the summer. I'm just guessing that people that can drop $1,000 for a weekend are likely spending money in town, even if they are "Uninvested pass-through transient tourists"

I'm just wondering how exceptionally fast they are speeding to get from Bailey to "downtown Denver" in only 60 minutes??? The drive is a whole lot longer than that when one actually follows the posted speed limits.

The drive is a whole lot longer than that when one actually follows the posted speed limits. 60 minutes is quite reasonable. Very few follow the posted speed limits, but just 5-10 over will definitely get you there without traffic delays. I bet its doable right now. |
