Full fat is best. Kalona milk is great to use. It's low temp pasteurized and non-homogenized. Natural Grocers carries it. I've bought kits from New England Cheese Making Supply company. I've also bought individual ingredients and followed their instructions with great success. It's easier than most people realize. https://cheesemaking.com/products/30-mi ... lla-recipe |

I'm taking advantage of the cooler weather to get some things done in the kitchen.
I already made a batch of ghee. Then... Pico de gallo and fermented ginger carrots! ![]() I need to run down to the greenhouse to pick more tomatoes for the pico. There's a bunch of ripe ones down there that need to be harvested. ![]() Next I want to make another batch of pesto, if I can get organized and pull that off before the game starts. Otherwise that will wait until tomorrow. |

Now that the temps are cooler the wife has been baking more.
This is the Focaccia Bread she made today she has plans for many meals but tonight we are having Italian sandwiches. She keeps me fat and happy and is truly amazing at mixing things up. ![]() |

Foccasia bread is one of her secret weapons. Olives... never tried that, but will, _________________ It's worth being older now to have been younger then. |

Ask her for the recipe! I'm also one of the rare people who likes olives.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You must have had a lot of rose hips! I've not had rose hip jelly in ages. Last time I recall was a High Tea at a B&B in Denver, they even had gluten free scones! |

Mrs. BGR The recipe I used was the one printed in the High Timber Times, I believe the title was "Rose Hip Jelly That Really Jells". It was specific to altitudes from 8200 to 8500 feet. _________________ When I moved here there was nothing, now it's all gone. ![]() Mountain folk see the mountains when they drive. I have relatives that live in central Texas that I sent some to and they liked so much they actually vacation here at this time of year to help me pick, otherwise it takes hours to get a fair amount. _________________ When I moved here there was nothing, now it's all gone. ![]() Mountain folk see the mountains when they drive.
