I’m honored, Monchiladas!
I am thankful to see my aspen trees budding out! They don’t start until awhile after my neighbors’ trees do, so I always worry whether they’re okay. It’s a relief and a joy to see them welcoming spring. ![]() _________________ The life you’ve led doesn’t have to be the only life you live. |

Thanks Monchiladas for including me in your thankful list. ***blush***
I am thankful to live in such a beautiful area, with great hiking and wonderful people. This was my dream from when I was a child growing up in a New Jersey suburb of New York City. We would travel to Pennsylvania for vacations and I would wonder that anyone could live in a lightly populated, forested area. I had very little idea that there were places with no street lights, dirt roads, and ***gasp*** no sewer systems. I am grateful for all living things but most especially the special gift of wildflowers (and maybe not chipmunks, golden mantle ground squirrels, rabbits and pocket gophers). I am grateful for an internet place like Pinecam where I enjoy so much of the humor, advice, questions and timely local information. I especially enjoy the gardening conversations and advice. All in all, I am grateful to be alive in this time and place. |

Well, those are things for which I am grateful all the time.
But right now, today, I am grateful for the package I received via UPS. I rescued a derelict SUV late last year from Evergreen. The leather dashboard was literally curled up on one end and that bothered me Much. Can't afford real leather, so ordered a length of fake stuff and crossed fingers. It came today and it's beautiful and just the right weight and so soft and supple to handle--it'll be my pleasure to work with it to repair the dash. _________________ A mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions. |

My dog is 2 years old. He’s big, fast, strong as an ox - with LIMITLESS energy. He’s also a bit of a knucklehead at times. Well, a lot of the time, honestly. We got him from IMHS. He’s basically a mut. We thought he’d grow up to be small. That was nearly 100 pounds ago.
But I am eternally grateful for how gentle and patient he is with my young son. When he’s around my son, he switches gears, from bounding, knucklehead that drives me insane at times - to the gentlest, sweetest, calmest, most nurturing dog I’ve ever had. As far as I’m concerned... he can be a bonehead for the rest of his life, as long as he’s always this good to my kid. |

Today I'm grateful to see our little fox again, he goes thtough our yard tjen across the street to the left of our neighbors house.
Also grateful for this pretty bird who spent the morning foraging in front of my desk window. Has a big amber belly. |
