I keep two of these in my car:
https://www.staples.com/Mount-It-Rolling-Utility-Cart-Folding-and-Collapsible-55-Lbs-Capacity/product_24148263 They've become a bit pricy, but they're at least 10 years old and still going strong. They hold a normal weeks shopping and I can wheel them easily into the house. _________________ When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food. — Erasmus |

We ordered these and received them this week. They are not very heavy, fold up very small so they are easy to stuff in a pocket or purse. They do not have a bottom, but they are machine washable, and seem to hold a lot per bag. Listing says they will hold 50Lbs per bag, but we have not shopped that much with them yet. The material is thin, yet supposed to be durable. We also will not pay .10 per bag, especially since the plastic bags are horrible anyway.

here is law
https://tax.colorado.gov/carryout-bag-fee for those of us that use delivery or pickup service at grocery stores, we are stuck paying the fee. Easy Entrees will refund the fee if you bring your own bags to collect your food, which we did this weekend. _________________ _________________ A Rainbow Bridge for Pinecammers. I don't know how I missed that this was happening but I did. :-(
What You Need to Know About Colorado’s New Plastic Bag Fee — Starts Today! Quote: The law goes into effect on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
IMPORTANT: Beginning January 1, 2024, the act prohibits stores and retail food establishments from providing single-use plastic carryout bags to customers. ... Stores will keep 40% of the bag fee to cover compliance and administration costs. The remaining 60% will be given to the municipality or county in which the store is located. The fee will help to cover administrative and enforcement costs, as well as fund recycling and sustainability efforts. |

It's a tax here, too - I believe the state gets 6 cents, the retailer keeps 4 cents.

But wait! There's more!
Quote: Beginning January 1, 2024, the act prohibits stores and retail food establishments from providing single-use plastic carryout bags to customers. Certain retail food establishments, and small stores that operate solely in Colorado and have 3 or fewer locations, may provide single-use plastic carryout bags. Between January 1, 2023, and January 1, 2024, a store may furnish a recycled paper carryout bag or a single-use plastic carryout bag to a customer at the point of sale if the customer pays a fee of 10 cents per bag or a higher fee adopted by the municipality or county in which the store is located. On and after January 1, 2024, a store may furnish only a recycled paper carryout bag to a customer at the point of sale at a fee of 10 cents per bag or a higher fee imposed by the municipality or county in which the store is located. As of yesterday, Walmart will no longer have plastic bags. https://www.kktv.com/2022/12/05/walmart ... an-1-2023/ Quote: “Beginning Sunday, January 1, 2023, Walmart stores in Colorado will no longer provide single-use plastic or paper bags at checkout or pickup. Delivery will shift to paper bags. We are working hard to ensure a seamless and convenient shift to reusable bags for our customers and associates. Eliminating single-use bags is part of our commitment to achieve zero waste across our operations and ultimately shift gradually toward a circular economy built on advancing reuse, refill and recycling habits.”

No bags needed for me. Just put my stuff back in the cart and I'll leave the cart in the parking lot. I feel so green!

I'm pretty sure this tax only applies for families making over $400,000 per year.
