Reports from FB 285 traveler page indicate State Patrol is out and active along 285 much to the dismay of some posters.
I'm very glad.

Volume is steadily increasing southbound and backing up a bit at the lights in PJ and at 43.

Just now:

"We are Northbound on 285 out of FairPlay! Southbound is already lined up down here! County Police are all over Highway 9 to and from Breckenridge. Drive safely folks!!"

Just got back from King Soopers...already backed up at Richmond Hill and yes, CSP is out there!!!

I went to the hardware store in PJ an hour ago.
No joke, heavy volume on 285.
And we just got hammered with pea to marble size hail.

“ SB 285 - 20 minutes from Foxton to Kings Valley. Weather, volume, holiday traffic. Be careful out there!”


“ As of 1:40 it's now backed up to the Safeway exit”

“ Some good news....285 has fully reopened, construction completed and the orange cones have been removed heading north into Denver.”

So it was kinda weird, I drove 43 to the Loaf about 4:15.

There was no traffic. Not northbound or southbound as I sat behind one other person at the light. None.

Just before the light changed for us there was a trickle of cars northbound and a few south.
