There was a large plume of white smoke in Conifer just before noon & a little later (like half an hour) the police had Barkley Rd. closed off at Hiway 73. Does anyone know what was going on?

A house was on fire near the church and Ace hardware on Buckley. Hoping everyone is ok!

From FB 5 hrs ago:

“ Looked like 26701 Barkley, across the road from Ace. Scanner says main fire knocked down, working interior currently”

Comment from the owner:

“we were not in it. My dogs are good to go. Thanks for the concern though!!“

I don't think anyone actually lives there. It was bought by an LLC a few years back and I've seen it advertised as vacation rental up to $1500 night.

we have a neighbor that lived in the 'hood and built their dream home. then covid hit and both were not working much, so they leased out their dream home
for nightly or weekly rates to stay above water and and made really really good money. I am not sure either really had to go back to work.

That is a good outcome, from sadness to everything working out better than they expected. I love that.

But, I wonder, did they have to live in a shed as you suggested?
