Park County has a 'Code Red' system that allows this, find it on the Emergency Management page of the county website (don't have link handy)

I signed up for Park County's some time ago. It worked great the one time it called. It notified me of the planned power outage IREA and Xcel had 6 months to a year ago. It was really nice to have that kind of notice. I also feel more comfortable knowing if I am not at home, I am still being made aware of potential problems near it.

My home phone got a call about the twister last year around 15 minutes after I had filmed the remaining rotating cell to the north of me. My cell phone rang 30 minutes after the fact, so I am not so thrilled about performance in Teller CO.

With today’s technology and people not having land lines Jefferson County has now created a reverse 911 database to notify Voice over IP (VoIP) and Wireless Telephones if there is a disaster or emergency close to your house. This is great service that Jeffco has got up and running. With the upcoming fire season upon us, you can know asap if you house or loved ones are in danger.
Please visit www.your911.net . The site has great instructions on what areas of Jeffco this service works for and the form only takes a few seconds to fill out. Plus you can register more than one number for the same address. I saw on the news and in the canyon courier that it take about 4 weeks for your info to get set up. So I suggest not to wait Spread the word and be safe.............. |

Thanks for posting that. We're cell phone only and I signed up all three of us. Larimer County has had this for some time and I wondered when we'd get it.
