Thanks for the info, I was hoping for something like this since we have both VOIP and cell phones.

hmmm....
I registered all our (cell and VOIP) phones on the Jeffco 911 page ~2 years ago. Decided to go in this evening to verify all my info was accurate. Only one of my numbers was listed. if you registered a while back, then you may want to make sure your info is still correct. _________________ Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but my the moments that take our breath away. - anonymous |

The relocation of the Post Office from Pine Grove to Pine Junction has all the geo location systems unreliable. Does anyone have an idea as to how to get this situation rectified? Don't feel badly; the 80425 (Buffalo Creek) zip code shows as being located somewhere up above Foxton. Ain't technology great? NOT! _________________ "At least two thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity, idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religious or political idols." I would immediately contact the Post Master General for both locations and then for the state. |

Park County Q&A #5
CodeRED emergency http://www.parkco.us/FAQ.aspx?QID=91 5. I have a cordless phone, and it does not work when the power goes out. How is CodeRED going to be able to contact me? There are two ways you can continue to receive telephone messages from the County through CodeRED: Make sure you have at least one working corded telephone – and be sure to turn the ringer on. The CodeRED “Residential Data Collection” sign-up form gives you the option of filling in both a primary phone number and an alternate phone number. You can fill in the alternate phone number blank with your cell phone number, or you can make it your primary phone number if you wish. Entering an alternate phone number will cause both your primary and alternate phone numbers to be called. Of course, no form of communication is guaranteed to remain in operation under severe conditions such as those produced by a wildfire. CodeRED does widen the safety margin by offering residents another new and powerful means of learning about vital, timely information. |

I registered us both when I saw the fire start behind Norm Meyers house in among the rocks, crags & trees behind his house. Since we are cell only now no one could get hold of us any other way. It did work that day for a friend's house I was cat sitting - she got the call - out of town & called me - I was there with the cat & called 911 checking on the fire situation. I was told where it was & it was controlled. It was about the fire behind her business & I was able to inform her that all was well & it wasn't her house + her business was fine. This time the reverse 911 worked great. I am on the edge of Jeff County.
