285 remains closed as of right now. In addition, Hoosier Pass is open to any vehicles with chains only, including cars. Fairplay Community Center housed 299 people overnight. Please pass this information on to friends and family getting ready to travel the roads.

Per CDOT at this time 285 has been reopened.

All commercial vehicles must chain up between MM 208 - 201 , Grant to near Jefferson per CDOT VMS in Fairplay at this time:

It has just been closed again right now. ZERO visibility. Closed south of Fairplay to Grant.

CDOT has updated their site for closure from MM 161 on the South side, which would be near Antero Junction.

No changes and it is unlikely 285 will open tonight. Last vehicle was just moved off Kenosha so that emergency plow could get in. There are still numerous stranded motorists awaiting assistance, some without heat. People are being transported from Red Hill Pass to Fairplay for shelter. There were 300 housed last evening and probably more of the same tonight. Sheltering also going on in Jefferson. There are still accidents happening on Highway 9 and 24 as well, fortunately, no fatalities. If there is any major update this evening, I will try to post again.

Thanks, waterman. As an update, there is no projected time for the closed areas to open. They are continuing to remove stranded vehicles from the roadways. Roads are very icy and slick in the affected areas.
